Growth isn’t a straight line, it’s a living thing.

Hi,I'm Vanessa
Canadian Certified
Counsellor & Registered
Psychotherapist
Curiosity about what it means to be human, how we get stuck, how we heal, and how we grow is what fuels my work as a therapist. Healing is not a straight line. It happens when we slow down enough to truly notice our experience with kindness and curiosity. No matter what you’ve been through or what you’re facing right now, I want to offer a space where you can pause, connect with what’s alive inside, and start building a more compassionate relationship with yourself and others.
I’m here to hold a safe, honest, and non-judgmental space for individuals, couples, and families. Whether you’re navigating relationship challenges, grief, life transitions, or the lingering impacts of your past, my approach blends warmth and realness. I work from a neuro-affirming, trauma-informed lens—honouring different ways of thinking, feeling, and relating, and supporting you in making sense of your unique patterns rather than pathologizing them. I’m committed to being LGBTQ+ affirming and culturally attuned.
Outside of therapy, I’m someone who values connection, creativity, and the beauty in everyday moments. I bring that same openness and grounded energy into our work together, ready to hold space for the tough stuff and the breakthroughs.

Who I work with
I support individuals and couples who feel stuck in repeating patterns, whether that shows up as saying yes when you mean no, getting caught in the same arguments, or feeling misunderstood in how you think, feel, or communicate. If you’re someone who often puts others’ needs first but feels exhausted, disconnected, or unsure of who you really are beneath it all, this work is for you.
Together, we’ll slow things down and get curious about what’s underneath these patterns, including how your past experiences, nervous system, and ways of processing shape your emotional world and relationships. I work from a trauma-informed, neuro-affirming lens, where your responses are understood as meaningful adaptations, not problems to fix. From there, we focus on building clearer boundaries, more honest communication, and deeper, more sustainable connection with yourself and those you care about.
Common challenges include:
-
Repetitive relationship conflicts and communication struggles
-
Difficulty setting boundaries or expressing needs
-
Emotional burnout and managing overwhelming responsibility
-
Feeling disconnected from your true self
-
Unpacking patterns rooted in trauma or family dynamics
-
Navigating life transitions and changes
-
Building authentic, grounded relationships
What is flow in psychotherapy?
The experience of flow is the experience of being fully immersed in an activity in an enjoyable and energy enhancing way. During moments of flow, creativity is enhanced, meaning is created, and well-being grows. In therapy, this can be experienced as feeling bonded, connected, yet challenged and open to ongoing feedback in a way that promotes growth, safety, and integration. It is also the acknowledgement and welcoming of the ebbs and flows of life and what it means to be human.
I've noticed that clients experience this more deeply when therapy is tailored to their individual or relationship preferences and needs. I draw on various techniques and approaches that are evidence based and known to be effective in improving mental and relational health.
Some of the approaches I use include:
-
Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS)
-
Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT)
-
Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP)
